BTW, I disassembled both carbs, soda blasted them and washed with ultrasonic bath. Has anyone done that? I would appreciate some help on how to do it. There is however no suggestions how to remove the vent valve for cleaning. Been reading and searching about stromberg carburettors but can't find any links to a carburettors vent valve except at the buckeyetriumphs, Carburettors part 2, page 6 at the bottom. The front carburettors (or for that matter either one) vent valve pin, the one that gets pushed in by a lever from the manual choke assembly, seems to be stuck pushed in so prior to putting the carbs back I would like to clean it up and release the pin for free movement. Rebuilding the cylinder head, carburettors, front and rear brakes, bearings etc.Ĭurrently rebuilding the carburettors which are Stromberg 175 CD-2. I am in the process of some major work on my TR 7.
